Hi! I'm Rama Duwaji, a Syrian illustrator and designer with a BFA in Communication Arts, based in New York City.
I use visual art as a tool to examine themes of sisterhood and authentic expression within communities. I create imagery of women of color in healing spaces as a way to shift the narrative and envision a future without oppressive systems and the pressures to conform to western standards of beauty. My illustrations critique current societal norms and highlight the roles that community practices play in one’s mental health and well being.
